Conveniently located near Piazza del Popolo and the corresponding metro entrance, the apartment is only a short stroll from the top of the legendary meeting place, the Spanish Steps. Simply walk down Via del Babuino and continue onto to the Steps. The Spanish Steps which lead from Piazza di Spagna to the church, Trinita` dei Monti, is unfailingly filled with Romans and tourists alike. A perfect spot to sit and enjoy a delicious gelato or perhaps, some freshly roasted chestnuts.

Piazza di Spagna leads toward Rome’s upscale shopping streets – Via dei Condotti and Via del Corso. This area is a verified shopping paradise as it is home to numerous big label shops like Gucci, Prada, Louis Vutton, Versace, Valentino, and more.

Also close to the apartment is Piazza del Popolo, famous for its “twin” churches and grand Egyptian obelisk. Villa Borghese, one of Rome’s most beautiful parks, provides a tranquil place to rest in the midst of a long day of sightseeing.

To arrive at the Imperial Forum and the Colosseum, first walk toward Piazza del Popolo down Via del Babuino. Next, turn and make your way toward Via Maria Adelaide (close to where it with Via Fernando di Savoia). From here take the 81 bus from just outside the apartment (toward Malatesta) for 12 stops. Exit at Celio Vibenna. Walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali from the world-famous arena, the Colosseum, to arrive at the ancient Imperial Forum.

To visit Vatican City, from Piazza del Popolo take the 117 bus (toward Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano). After four stops, exit at Corso/Minghetti. From here take the 62 bus (toward Borgo S. Angelo). After 8 stops, exit at Corridori.

To arrive at the Pantheon, one of Rome’s best preserved ancient temples, take the 117 bus (toward Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano). Exit after 4 stops at Corso/Mighetti and continue on foot to the Pantheon by way of Via di Pietra. From the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo de` Fiori are easily reached by foot from here.

To reach the bohemian neighborhood of Trastevere, first take the 117 bus (toward Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano). After five stops, exit at Piazza Venezia. From here, take the “H” bus (toward Dei Capasso). Exit after 2 stops at Sonnino/S. Gallicano.

Café
It won’t be hard to find a good cappuccino or espresso, but if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, try Ciampini. This café opens early and stays open late. The wonderful view, outdoor tables and garden make Ciampini an excellent location to linger over your cappuccino or glass of wine any day. For Dinner or Lunch
Al Vicario serves a large buffet at lunch, and extremely reasonable prices for both lunch and dinner. At the end of the day, or even for lunch, head for ‘Gusto, just off Via del Corso. It’s a foodie’s haven taking a entire square-block with a restaurant, osteria, wine bar, and cookware and cookbook shop. The wine bar offers live Jazz on Thursday evenings.
