Location and nearby attractions:
From your apartment, the Colosseum will be only a short walk away. Walk up to Via Cavour, and make a left onto Via del Colosseo. From here you can enjoy the view of the world’s most famous arena as you work your way down to the Colosseum.
From the Colosseum, one can easily walk to the Imperial Forum and browse through the ruins of Rome’s ancient city center: ancient temples, renowned Roman baths, and market places. What’s more you can make your way to the ancient Roman palace and Temple of the Vestal Virgins on Palatine Hill.
To reach Piazza Navona, famous for its fountains and artists, walk toward via Nazionale (by way of Via dei Serpenti, Via Panisperna and Via Mazzarino). Take the #64 bus (toward Piazza Stazione San Pietro). Exit after 4 stops. From here, Campo de Fiori, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and the bohemian neighborhood of Trastevere will all be within walking distance (about 15 minutes).
To visit Vatican City, simply walk to Via Nazionale and take the #40 bus (toward Piazza Pia/Castel Di Sant’Angelo) for five stops. Exit at Traspontina/Conciliazione and continue by foot down Via della Conciliazione – a great view of the Cupola.
To get to the Spanish Steps, walk up to the Metro B entrance on Via Cavour (toward Rebbibia). Exit after one stop at Termini Station and switch to the A line (red line) toward Battistini. Exit after three stops for Piazza di Spagna; or exit after four stops to visit Piazza del Popolo or Villa Borghese, one of Rome’s most beautiful parks.
Where to Eat & Drink – Rome is filled with thousands of great restaurants, but here are a few great places nearby your apartment:
Café = It won’t be hard to find a good cappuccino or espresso, but if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, try Ciampini. This café opens early and stays open late. The wonderful view, outdoor tables and garden make Ciampini an excellent location to linger over your cappuccino or glass of wine any day. For Dinner = Il Sanpietrino features Roman and Jewish. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed and comfortable, and in the summer the restaurant spills out on to one of the most attractive piazzas in Rome. A delicious dessert menu follows every meal! Drinks = After a long day relax with a glass of wine at a local wine bar, Al vino al vino. With over 600 choices of Italian and international wines, outside garden, and air-conditioning, the nearby Al Vino al vino provides a perfect place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.
