Only a few steps from your apartment, you’ll find yourself in the midst of Rome’s historic center, face to face with the renowned Trevi Fountain. Simply walk down Via Crispi until it meets with Via in Arcione, make a right. Continue on Via in Arcione until it leads into Via della Lavoratore and finally the Piazza di Trevi. Once the site of an original Roman aqueduct and the backdrop of Federico Fellini’s Dolce Vita, the legendary Trevi can help you ensure your safe return to Rome – just throw a coin over your shoulder in to the fountain. If you continue walking straight from the Trevi Fountain down Via delle Muratte you will arrive at the Pantheon, (NOTE: street name changes a few times as you continue). Within a few minutes, you will reach Piazza della Rotonda and the Pantheon. From here, Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori are only a short walk away. To find your way to Piazza Venezia, turn left at the intersection between Via del Corso and Via della Muratte, and walk toward the unmistakable Monument to Victor Emanuel II, the first king of Italy. To arrive at the Imperial Forum and the Colosseum, take the #175 bus from Via del Tritone (toward Partigiani) for 5 stops. Exit at Celio Vibenna. Walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali from the world-famous arena, the Colosseum, and soon you’ll arrive at the ancient Imperial Forum. To visit Vatican City, take the #62 bus on Via del Corso (toward Borgo S. Angelo). Exit after 8 stops at Corridori. To reach the bohemian neighborhood of Trastevere, take the #63 bus on Via del Corso (toward Corso/Minghetti) for two stops. Exit at Largo Torre Argentina, a main bus stop in Rome. From here, take the #8 tram (toward Casaletto) for three stops. One can easily walk to the Spanish Steps, but if you’d prefer to take the bus, take the #119 bus from Via del Tritone (toward Corso/Popolo). Exit after three stops at Piazza di Spagna. Where to Eat & Drink – Rome is filled with thousands of great restaurants, but here are a few great places nearby your apartment: Café = It won’t be hard to find a good cappuccino or espresso, but if you’re looking for something a bit more upscale, try Ciampini. This café opens early and stays open late. The wonderful view, outdoor tables and garden make Ciampini an excellent location to linger over your cappuccino or glass of wine any day.
